About Me
I qualified as a physiotherapist in 1996 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and then completed a Masters degree (MSc) in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2004. In between then I qualified with Body Control Pilates (one of the world leaders in the Pilates industry) in 2002. In 1998, I completed a course in acupuncture for musculosketal problems with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
During my 18 years in the NHS, I was a Clinical Specialist in Spinal rehabilitation and an Extended Scope Practitioner in Orthopaedics and Rheumatology. I was lucky enough to work alongside Rheumatology and Orthopaedic consultants and gained a huge amount of knowledge of complex presentations, which stands me in good stead with my Physio and Pilates clients.
For Physiotherapy, Pilates, and Acupuncture memberships, I have to complete many hours training each year which is known as Continual Professional Development (CPD) This means my knowledge / practice is kept up to date with current guidelines. I hold an up to date First Aid / CPR certificate.
Physio memberships – Chartered Society of Physiotherapy , Health Care Professions Council, Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Pilates for Everyone
I truly believe exercise should be accessible for everyone, and it gives me huge pleasure seeing my clients improve their fitness and mobility and become more confident in their abilities from attending classes. My classes have a lovely, friendly atmosphere and although we are very focused, a bit of fun and laughter is strongly encouraged!
I look forward to meeting you either online or in person and hope you can join me.
